l cant ever seem to find any morgan horses for sale. l am looking for at least $300 NO MORE,

a well trained horse is not cheap, even in this economy.
l hope u realize that actually buying a horse is the cheapest aspect of horse ownership.
after the purchase is when u REALLY start spending the money
ie. tack, feed, vet bills, the farrier, board(if u do not have ur own barn) & so on...

BUT... if that is all u have to spend u need to go to all the sights like dreamhorse.com, horsetopia.com, equine.com & the like & put an ad for horse wanted. list everything u have to offer like nice barn, pasture, & lots of time. in this economy alot of people r loosing their barns & r giving away some really nice horses, but they r trying to be picky & listing what u have to offer is the key.
and definately do a pre-purchase vet check or u might be in for a
a huge headache.

Have you looked in the classifieds? Seen anyone with the type of horse you want? Word of mouth in the community you live in is always the best. Maybe you could try calling a big animal vet to ask them. The vet does do those kinds of things too. It should not matter whether you live in Connecticut or New Mexico, Wyoming,etc. You could also look up your local 4H group or FFA group. Those types of places can always be very helpful. Good Luck!

While u may find a horse for $300.00, u wo not find a Morgan trained in saddle seat for that price. You will find a horse that no one else is willing to take a chance on. Still, u can try. You need to understand that breeders invest a lot of money & time in their animals before they even know if they will have a horse to sell. If u add in the cost of care & training, ur talking thousands of dollars. It is totally unreasonable to ask anyone to take that kind of loss for all the back breaking work & money they invest! Also, good breeders & trainers keep their prices high, even in a ''down'' market. It increases the chance that their horse will be sold to someone who can afford the care & further training necessary to keep the animal, & decreases the odds of it ending up in a bad situation. It is asking a lot to get a good horse at such a low price.

sorry to be so negative, but you will not find a sound horse for that amount of money.

l am from Connecticut to & had the same problem finding a horse. DO NOT ADOPT, sometimes u can not show the horse, read the fine print. Just to tell u some about horse rescues like HORSE of CT, the only rescue horses that they can make money on. Here is a place where u can find a morgan or saddlebred. Its a place called Another Chance for horses, its 4 hours away in PA, about 200 miles. They SELL broker owned horses, if they aren't, sold they usually run through the BIGGEST AUCTION east of the mississippi. go to AC4H.com & go to the broker owned page. You will find saddle seat prospects. l was on the website yesterday & they had a a young morgan, under 12, that was registered & only $500, it looked like a sharp horse. There r many horses on the pages for under $500, & it is updated every couple days, check it out to find a good horse that is cheap. Also they will get shipping quotes for you. If u have the time, go to the New Holland Auction, the sad thing is most of the horses r sold for meat & most of them had a great career & fell into the wrong hands. When ur on the website read the sad stories of the famous horses they have rescued.

That is going to be really hard. l have a friend who has a rescue who has a 4 1/2 year old jet black and she was just started under saddle for 450 and she has papers, l want this horse. It might be hard to find one fully trained at the price you want tp pay. Do not give up hope you may get lucky and find one.
