Can you use Charles Owen helmet cleaner on the outside of the helmet as well as the inside

l bought Charles Owen helmet cleaner, only to get home and find out that you should use it on the inside of the helmet, not the outside. Is it ok to use on the outside? If not, does anyone know of any ways to clean the outside of a helmet at home? Oh, the helmet l wanna clean is not velvet, it is the GPA suade-like material.

Normally, l clean the outside of my GPA with a damp cloth. It pretty much takes care of all dirt that accumulates on the outside.

If you already have then it will probably be okay. However you should not do it again. Just use a moist cloth, no soap.

Steam it just like you would velvet.
