So l got my first ottb but when we got their we got offered FOUR FREE TB is because if they did not get rid of them by today they all would be EUTHANIZED because the new rule at PEN NATIONAL RACE TRACK is every stall cost 1,700.00 So we brought home my horse and are going back FRIDAY to get three more mares!! With the high cost of feed and upkeep it does not surprise me at all. l was told to lock my gate because some people were putting abandoned horses in other peoples paddocks.These owners are responsible but it is easier to put them down than find a home for them. Everyone should call Penn National Racetrack and complain as this is bad karma for them. l will check out you site.

It is a sad issue but because of the no slaughter in the US too many homes are being found for crippled and old horses and the younger horses are not even given a chance. Most younger, sound stout horses which would other wise find homes are being shipped out to CN or MEX for slaughter.

When times are so rough that you can not even get help to survive in this day and age, thinking about saving horses is an afterthought l am sorry to say.

l have a horse rescue but your on the other side of me to far to ship them. A friend and l are going this weekend to see about picking up a few off the track, her thing is OTTB she has a rescue too, l have taken a few and have space to put them. l think l will be over loaded by the time this weekends over.

How is this Pen Nationals fault? They're renting out stalls, they need to be paid for them. They are not making the owners have their horses pts.

l am actually glad to see unwanted horses being euthanized instead of being sent to slaughter. Its certainly a quieter, happier way to die.
