Tylenol or Advil? Baby Aspirin? Motrin?
Has anyone ever given their horse any of these?

l thought you can give your horse tylenol or advil. l guess not by looking at the ... never gave a horse asprin though.

Use BUTE.. you can buy it at your local feed store or get it from your vet.

No, It would do more harm than good. Even to the point of killing them, depending on how much you give them. Best to seek a vet.

WHY??? you should talk to a horse vet and ask them what to do if your horse was sore or hurting. lets say you sprained your ankle and you were limping so your mom or dad gave you horse medication, nooooo, it'd make it worse or you'd die. l do not think you should ever give horses human antibiotic's. l would give horses horse antibiotic's!

NO! Try banamine or bute. Banamine is better because bute can give them ulcers.

The lady over the back of us regularly gives her Donkey anti inflammatory and pain killers made for human. Most human and animal meds are very similar, and if you ask a vet they are obliged to tell you that. Of course, they wo not volunteer this info as animal meds are 3 times the price, and that is where they make alot of their money!!!

Horse aspirin is like human aspirin, just a bigger dosage. It serves the same purpose as a pain killer & anti-inflamatory & l have used horse aspirin on several horses for specific reasons. In a pinch, l crushed human aspirin & mixed it with applesauce to give to a horse when l was out of horse aspirin.
All of these products have long term effects & overdosage effects, so
ask the vet what the best pain killer would be for the type of pain ur horse has.

Banamine & bute r RX drugs. l keep banamine on hand at all times. It comes in a paste syringe or in liquid injectable form if u can give shots. You get it from ur vet, not the feed stores. Banamine also serves as a muscle relaxant & is a good thing to start with if u sense mild colic.
