I am curious, my girl of course loves, carrots, apples, sugar cubes, apple wafflers, peppermint candies, and sugar cones (ice cream, cones).So have you ever given you horse a banana - pumpkin if you do give bananas or pumpkin do you peal them?What kinds of things do you give?My girls fav is the apple most all, then the peppermint. I've seen people feeding hole banana is and hole pumpkins.What r your thought?

the only time l give my horse treats is if she does something, like if l am teaching her a trick, & she does what she is supossed to,i give her a treat, or she will become nippy...,
some treats l give her, are
apple[not whole, cute into peices]
jelly bean[my horse loves them]
salty crackers[my horse loves those to]
when l have suger/salt cubes l give her those
ummm, yeah that pretty much it:)
oh & l give her baby carrots to:)
but dont give them to her/him everytime u see them, or they will get nippy & think ur hand means treat, but if they do get to that point, when they reach there mouth to ur hand, tke ur fingernail & put it under neath her chin & pinch it, it will think of hands as pain, but will not become hand shy, if u do pinch them just right, they will stop associating ur hand with food, & u will be able to pet them w/o then tieng to eat ur hand:)

l think a horse is happy with just a clean stall. Hay and grain.
and maybe a walk. with you leading.

yeah ive seen people give horses huge pumpkins in the pasture to eat. my horse likes buckeye nutrition treats. the carrot, apple and peppermint.ive tried some odd fruits and veggies like celery and she wouldnt eat it l was told horses love celery ?! dunno l think you just give them a whole pumpkin thats how ive seen it done. they roll it around like a jolly ball in the pasture .. my barn is too strict on that kind of stuff she wont allow jolly balls or pumpkins its lousy.

l have NEVER heard of ANYONE giving their horse bananas or pumpkins. My grandma did know a horse that liked mayo, yeah idk. Also, my friend fed a horse a french fry once, but thats bad. Treats made for horses are always a good choice. l hear good things about winnies cookies. Also, sometimes a handfull of oats is a good treat.(Feed extra oats sparingly). Alfalfa cubes were the favorite of a holstiener l rode. He knew where they were and would drag me over to them.

My horses love Watermelon and Cantaloupe. l give them apples, carrots and sugar cubes of course and also the Mrs. Pastures horse cookies. They love those. l also make them baked apples with molasses and oats. They love!

Apples, Carrots, Turnip, Mints. His favourite are mints. They leave him licking his lips for hourse. =)

hmmm l would not do that. If you fed pumpkin seeds to your horse, that would not be smart. l do not think bananas would be great but probably would not do any bad harm.

After school, my friends and l go to the shop across the road and get hot chips. When someone picks us up to feed the horses, we give them the chips! They love them so much, all the chicken salt on them :P
