There is a horse across the street laying down. He is been down for an hour.But, his head keeps popping up.Do you think he is okay?Or do you think l need to go tell the owners?

He sounds okay, but maybe you just mention it to his owners because maybe he is just needs water or something :)

If he is not rolling around, getting up and down, he is probably resting. Horse can lay down normally for a couple hours. l would not worry unless he is up and down, up and down, rolling (repeats). Glad you are watching him. :-)

Keep an eye on him. If a horse stays down for over 3 hours, you need to worry about damage to the organs from the pressure. l would call the owners right now, and ask them to go check it out. He may get up when he sees them, and everything will be fine. Good Luck!

He sounds fine..but just walk out there and see if he gets up if so he is fine.

Sounds like hes sleeping. If your worried keep an eye on him and if he doesnt get up go talk to the owners.Unless hes thrashing trying to get up or rolling getting up going down rolling and kicking at his stomach l wouldnt worry about it

if you are worried about him keep an eye on him and maby take a walk over to see if he gets up, he may just be dozing.

Stick your head out and give a whistle or blow the car horn. If he responds then he is probably fine. If he were in pain he would not react. Is it a sunny day? Even it is cold outside, a horse will still love laying in the sun.

An hour is a long time for most horses to stay down, but not unheard of. l would err on the side of safety and call the owners. They will know what is or is not normal for this horse.

Sounds like you need to tell the owners. If the owners are not home call Animal Control.

Glad to know you are thoughtful enough to be watching him. Usually horses lay down just to rest. If his head is popping up he is more than likely okay. Horses can usually lay down for about 3 hours. But they do get up, walk around, then lay back down on the other side. But if you are concerned l would just go tell the owners. They would probably be thankful.
