Okay. This is hard for me to write, but l have to get it off my chest. l can not turn to anyone l know, for obvious reasons you will soon find out, and sometimes strangers are the best people to turn to...

l just got on facebook, and my mom obviously forgot to logoff, because it sent me to her homepage. For people who do not use facebook, there is a messager box at the bottom for people to chat in, sort of like AIM l suppose. Well, the chat box was open, and it was with some guy....l know l should not have read it, and now I am wishing l didn't....but l wo not go into detail. To sum it up, my mom is cheating on my step-dad, with some random guy on the internet. She has not seen in person, l know for sure, because he lives half way across the country, but the things she has said would definitely consider it cheating. She has cheated on my step-dad before, and when he found out, she left. For some strange reason that I will never be able to wrap my mind around, my step-dad begged for her back, and they eventually got back together. (All the time they were seperated l had to live at a friend is house, who thankfully had horses so that l could take my horse with me.) But now there is a void between them, and if and when he finds out, he will for sure kick us out.

I am seventeen, and I am working and going to college in the fall, of which l have to pay for myself. l have no car and l have one horse. The friend who took me in the last time is have finacial troubles because her mom is making horrible choices, just like mine, so if my step-dad were to find out, and kick us out of the house, I'd have no where to go.

What can l do? How can l approach my mom of this? She is bio-polar, so it is very hard to talk to her about things without her exploding. And if she does not explode, then she or sure wo not listen. l take care of my horse, my mom and step-dad have nothing to do with him. l keep him on my neighbor is land, who just has land, and nothing to do with horses, so leaving him behin is not an option. l have to do something about this before anythng bad happens. Please help me!! I am so scared.
Me and my step dad do not get along at all, but he may let me still live with him. :[
And l do not know where my real dad is. He split when l was nine months old, and has never tried to contact me in 17 years...so that is not an option either.
l planned on keeping my horse while l was in college. l was going to live at home, and keep him just as l always have. He is an easy keeper, does not take much to keep him fat and healthy, and of course l have back up money in case of an emergency.

horse people may seem to have the most sense but not on a question liek this. Id put it in the correct category.

Hwere is yoy real dad? not to get personal but yiu could try to live wioth him. and let ur mom make her bad decisions. or maybe if u and ur sstep dad get along really well stay with him

First of all a LOT of interent romances r just that, Internet Romances. Maybe 90% r all talk, no action. There is a LOT of married folk who ''cheat on line''. IF she is looking for a way out again, then maybe ur step dad needs to sit her down & have a talk with her & see what is lacking in their relationship. BUT that is between them, NOT you.

l agree with the 2nd poster & if ur step dad & u get along, then no reason why u can not continue to stay with him IF ur mom splits again.

it is best to not mention it, until you can live on college campus, that way you're out of the firing line...sorry that is really sucky

This is incredibly scary for you.

Your parents troubles r their troubles. You can not get between them, even to help them. Your step dad may already know. It probably means nothing to ur mom, especially if she is at the high end. If u confront ur mother or tell ur step dad, u may just set off the spark that blows everything up. If u don't, it may blow over.

Whatever u do, do not let this interfere with ur plans to attend college. You r not responsible for supporting ur mother if she meeses up her current home. If u were going to live at home, see if u can get emergency college aid to enter a dorm. In ur situation, money should be available.

What were u going to do with the horse in the fall? Whatever that was, u can do now if something bad happens. You can always give him away to someone u can trust, or free lease him to someone so u can get him back & check on him. You might even be able to lease him to someone in return for his board money.

You can not do anything to control ur mom. You can adjust ur personal goals accordingly. At 17, u r old enough to separate yourself from this. Get a part time job, & start establishing some credit for yourself. You will never get a loan without showing u r a reliable person who is employable. If u know any responsible adult willing to co-sign for you, get a car & make a payment plan. Otherwiise, u need to access public transportation. Finish high school, & then get a full time job that will support you. Find a roommate if u need financial help to pay rent, but not a boyfriend. Postpone college for a year, while u establish yourself in a job, & build credit. College will still be there when u r ready for it, & u will do better in ur classes when u r not dealing with ur parent is drama. If u can manage the finances to keep the horse, then do it. But if something has to give, try to create a contract with someone to pay for & use the horse for one year while u get organized. You're still young enough to change ur future & separate yourself from the insanity that will only keep disappointing u if u do not take charge of ur life. The earlier u choose to separate yourself from it, the more time u will have to invest in ur own future. Good luck in whatever u choose to do.
