l am with u Mule.. Even though l hate seeing horses go to slaughter, it is a market that at least created a base price here in the states. Now that all horse slaughter has been banned in the U.S. horses r being bought & transported across the border to Mexico or Canada.

I'd rather see a horse go to slaughter than starve to death because people r ignorant & do not know how to care for them. Horses r expensive, & if l can not ride one before it becomes a ''lawn ornament'' there is no point in me having one.

Who is going to fund these horses, & feed them, surely not PETA or the other uninformed ignorant people who want these petitions signed. If you're not prepared to care for the horses who have nowhere else to go but the slaughterhouse, stop lobbying for the slaughtehouses being closed.

It is not so much the slaughter part because if they did not have slaughter many unwanted horses would be in bad conditions. But it is so cruel on how they are transported with no care up to the slaughter and how they are slaughtered!!! l have a rescue and he is such a luv!

Go pedal your PETA tree hugging BS somewhere else..first there are no open slaughter houses in the US but there sure should be! Go right on perpetuating horse abuse neglect and starvation..which is what is happening since the closing of the Slaughter houses, now they just take horrid trips to Mexico and Canada.

u know, l understand the whole, horse slaughter thing, but if u think about it, there r more horses suffering every day that dont go to the slaughter then the ones that do. what r we going to do with the 1000s of horses that dont have homes & r mistreaten? theres not enough places to put them.and yes, l iknow that if we all come together, than maybe there will be, but be realistic, thats not going to happen, theres always going to be people that dont care. l think the slaughter is very inhumane & there needs to be changes.absolutly! but what is happening now? horses r being shipped to canada & Mexico, making the trip longer & more unbareable. l love horses just as much as every one else here does, maybe we should try to get it more humane than banning it? think about that!
