l share board a horse named Breezie.Recently she broke one of her bones. Not a major bone though. She is 23 years old and at my level of riding we are soon retiring her. Breezie will been in a stall for 4 months. We were going to do show season but since she got hurt thats not going to happen. So l have been riding this horse named Dancer in my lessons. He is a big , very built,quarterr horse. He is very fun to ride and l am tarting to love him. He has abouncyy canter and a scopey jump. l love Breezie, but l can not really move up with riding her. She is more of a pleasure horse. The thing l love about him is that he has just turned 10 and still has some spunk. Dancer does have an owner but she is an adult and does not come out that often. l really want toshare boardd him but l feel bad for my horse.

What should we do????

try finding a cheaper stable at first,dont give up on her,and pleasure horses,to me,are funier..

find a cheaper stable and keep your Breezie but offer to exercise Dancer for the owner for amount of money and when you have enough money find a cheap stable for Breezie.

She is 23 years old, which is reasonably old for a horse, & a broken bone in a horse of her age will take allot longer to heal than that of a horse of a younger age. Due to the lack of exercise Breezie will be having, she could encounter further complications such as stress founder from being locked in a stable for 4months or longer. l think if u were serious about doing the right thing for ur horse u should talk to ur vet about other options available, such as putting her down, as hard as it may seem.
