well l was thinking of buying this off of ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/LIME-GREEN-HEADSTALL-BREAST-COLLAR-NBand-Bridle-Set_W0QQitemZ350112121968QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 but l have never bought tack off of there (i have bought stuff- just never tack) and l was wondering if anyone has, does the tack that you buy off of there hold up nicely? and do you think that the tack l put above would be good? thanks ;-)

My sister bought me a bridle. It was too small, hard & brittle.and then broke.
My friend bought a bridle (had ferrules) & it broke on the first ride, 10 minutes in to the ride.
Another friend purchased a saddle. The tree was broke.
Another friend purchased a saddle. She said it was a pretty good saddle (english) for being used. She was worried it would be damaged & unusable.
What u put up there was nylon & it is for a really cheap price. If u can get it cheap & it turns out being cheap quality, u really aint out too much money. If l wanted it, I'd give it a try & hope l gambled right. :) Good luck!

l bought a lot of things off ebay- tack included.
You just need to be aware of the fact that most of the time, the stuff is either an off brand or homemade.
Looking at what u r buying- it seems to come from a manufacturer due to the poster is wording on the bottom. Sometimes they r homemade.
It is really a hit or miss with products, but make sure that the user has a lot of good ratings from buyers, & that will help u determine whether the person sells quality or not.
l would say go for it with this purchase- she has good ratings & it looks like a standard tack package u can buy from a store, which is most likely where she got it somewhere wholesale, or on discount.

l have bought many tack items of Ebay. but not this one.. l looked at the unit & honestly. for 49.99.. & shipping. no. its cheap, u can tell. u wont like it.. here is another Ebay seller http://stores.ebay.com/Equiteric she has some good deals at times.. but if u want some decent martingale units for a good price go to http://tackwholesale.com/ their products r always pretty good & their prices r very good especially if u buy in bulk.. if u belong to a club or barn. u can always find people who want to buy the same things u r & u will save.
l wouldnt by that green set u r looking at. l really dont think its worth it.. & it might even chafe ur horse.
Good luck

l bought a rough out work saddle from Ebay. It is not the best quality thing in the world, but l knew that before l bought it. Despite that, it is pretty comfortable and has held up pretty nicely. It also has a ton of D rings on it which is nice on a training saddle.
It is hard to tell how good the item you listed is. You will probably only know once you get it, unless you've heard good reviews from the maker.

l have bought some nice tack off ebay. l use only nylon tack such as this and l love it. l use blue and with it it will fade over a few years but no more then it cost you get to get new stuff sooner. l just keep the old for spare tack. Just make sure the seller has a good rating and go ahead and buy away. l realy like the lime green. l have wanted to try it but my hubby hates those kind of colors so l stay with blue.

l think ebay can go either way. l have bought things off of ebay & l found them to be satifactory, although they did not fit my horse (my fault though). l would just say if u r going to buy something be a smart buyer. Look at the sellers other items for sale & make sure they're good quality. Check out what people that have bought from them before have thought. Look at the way they want the payment & work out a return policy before buy the item. If u r careful & know what ur looking for, l think u can get some nice products.
i looked at the tack u wanted to buy & if its what u like & you've comparison shopped to know ur getting a good deal then go for it! If u look, they seller takes paypal as payment which is safe, & the seller is a store so u know its safer than buying from an individual. The feedback was 100% positive so l say go for it!

l have purchased several items from E-bay & have usually been satisfied. What u need to remember is that u r buying from another person, not a store usually. So, check the feedback of anyone u r considering buying from. l do not buy from anyone who has less than 99% positive feedback. You need to be sure about what u want since u usually can not return it, but u can re-sell it. l would only buy major brand tack in general & l would certainly only buy major brand tack off E-bay since some of the stuff offered is crap. There r risks to buying off of E-bay. Those r the risks u take to get the good price.

I've NEVER been a big fan of nylon tack except for halters. If they are that rough on my hands (reins, etc) imagine what a horse feels.
I've bought several items off of ebay and NEVER had an issue BUT l also ask for a LOT of pictures and the items l already know.
I'd keep my money and try and find the leather used versions of that tack.

First of all, check out this store :-) l think u will like it. l have bought on ebay & had no problems. Look at the number by the name of the seller: joeblow(239) 99.2%.. this shows this person has sold/bought 239 items, & has a almost perfect buy/sell record. Look for if they have a store, & check the store out. You will be ok. If u pay by paypal, u r somewhat protected on purchases & selling.

l used to buy ( & sell) on Ebay a lot so yes l have bought tack from there. l have bought some very nice Heritage bridles, several bits, several saddles ( some did not fit so l resold them) rugs etc. l did get a saddle that the dye ran on when it got rained on & a bridle that broke ( admittedly the pony WAS freaking out at the time) but apart from that the stuff has been all right.
The tack u linked actually looks quite nasty - l am not criticising the colour, l mean the strapping looks rather lightweight & if u want nylon tack then it is best to have it with the metal reinforced buckle holes rather than just the melted ones ( l honestly can not tell from the link if they r or not. ) Personally I'd pass on that one.

l have & been happy with everything l have bought. l have 4 things that l bough off Ebay. Look at the part that tells you about the seller & how many people have complained.
****edit**** The ''feedback'' is 100%. Which is good.

Well . There Could Be alot of to that
Things Off ebay arent always what they r in the pictures, nasty people try & rip u of & send u or u pick it up then when u get home its either bad quality, broken or Not the right size, or any other reason there could be. & its all in the question if u going to trust he/she the person who is selling u the item. l would say email the person & ask for a detailed explanation on the item u r buying & ask for them to send a few pictures of the item at different angles or different ways.

l bought a great brand new saddle on Ebay for $34.00 & 5 years later it is like new & comfy as ever. l have also bought everything from halters to bits on ebay & never had a problem. l prefer the nylon tack for the simple fact that its about impossible to break a nylon rein or headstall & having ridden many year Ive been through many a leather broken rein or headstall on the trails & riding several miles home with one rein can be a major pain . One caution though is l have seen that set of tack for much cheaper off ebay.

It is a matter of knowing ur stuff & being able to 'read into' the descriptions.
The picture u show looks pretty nice. It could be something someone got in a bankruptcy, a closeout or perhaps it is a tack store that is had the item on it is shelf for way too long just looking to get something out of it.
You have to ask the right questions & watch the feedback ratings & then be willing to stand up for ur rights. l have bought a few things on Ebay, but only things l know the exact value of & ones with good descriptions, good seller ratings & good pictures.
If, for example, u buy a product in which the seller says ''New' - u buy it & find it is been used, u really need to give a bit of negative feed back to the seller as they've just sold u something as if it were new but it is not. ''Like New'' is a term that is totally opinion based. l once bought a Montanta buckle on ebay. The picture looked good, the price was OK & the seller said ''Like new, in box'' so l bid & won the bid. When l got the item, it was tarnished, scratched & not in the original box as the ad would have led one to believe. l complained to the seller, gave a bad rating & she took the item back refunding my money.
People need to be honest about what they're selling otherwise they damage the experience for people.
Consider also the full picture. What might u find a get up like that for in a store? The headstall, reins, breastcollar - everything. Would u find it for $49 or is that a helluva deal? If it is too good to be true, it probably is. Were l to order this item, I'd probably find the nylon is thin & perhaps the items would not last a long time- seams may come undone for example. But if l ride in it one year & it falls apart, l am only out $49 - the value is up to u but ensure what you're seeing is within the realm of realistic.

l have had to rebuy tons of stuff here this last 2 months as im needing stuff for training again...when l got out l sold everything..my biggest regret..but l have purchased about 700 to 800 dollars worth of horse stuff including bridles, blankets, saddles, show halters, pretty much anything u can think of, l think it has been a wonderful experience & have no regrets, all Ive purchased was of excellent quality & arrived in great condition & in a timely fashion. One draw back is shipping costs can be expensive. Otherwise my Ebay experience has been fantastic.
