Ok, so l am doing my AS levels at the moment, and am in the process of choosing my A2s for next year, and l was wondering...most people do 4 ASs and 3 A2s, but what about if l did 4 ASs and 2 A2s, but then did BHS stage 1 or something similar? Or do you think l could do 3 A2s AND a BHS stage? Also, what do people think about these courses http://cirencester.ac.uk/component/option,com_course/action,view_single_course/course_id,3288/ and http://cirencester.ac.uk/component/option,com_course/action,view_single_course/course_id,3768/ (there are also 2 more animal ones which are the equivalent of either 2 or 3 A levels, but l wanna do some other courses as well). Do you think these are stupid courses? Are proper-looking ones? Do they look worth it? Do you think these are the type of courses only unintellectual people who can not do the other courses will choose?
Opinions much appreciated...
P.S. Is it possible to study for a BHS stage 1 exam with very littleknowledge at the start?

personally l would not go for it, but l am not really into animals, but if you think it would be something you seriously enjoy you should well go for it! Its your choice do not let other people boss you around and make your decision for you!

It all depends on what u see yourself doing for work. Many people who start of working with horses decide it doesnt give them enough money (normally minimum wage as a groom & not much more as an instructor) so move on to a 9-5 & just keep it as a hobby. There r equine degrees available now which give better opportunities eg working in insurance, horse law, research, lecturing, bloodstock agencies. If u want to go on to do a degree eg in equine business management or equine science it is definately better to do ur A levels. Although most colleges that do the degrees accept students with national diplomas those with A levels normally manage the work a lot more easily. Many colleges also offer the BHS stages alongside studies at a subsidied price. Do u want to work directly with horses eg as an instructor becasue if not there is no real point in doing the stages. If u r interested in a degree some places that offer them are: Bishop Burton College, Hartpury, Myerscough, University of Lincoln, University of Aberwyswyth. They will show up in a UCAS course search.
