my horse is jumping in pony club next weekend, im not riding, she has a different rider for shows.

anywat, she only has half a mane due to fullneck rug rubibg it away, should l just neaten up the rest of her mane, or plait her up? l have no idea how you should turn out for pony club, any advice?

l would ask her rider for shows, or your trainer.

l would make it as neat as possible, and then, after the show, clip off all her mane, and just start over. please note that this may mean missing 1 or 2 jumping shows, because your horse would have no mane.

l would shorten whats left then do small plaits for the show.Try and encourage the rest to grow back.Or hog her if you think she will look ok as it does not suit some ponies.
My horse has a full neck 24hrs but still has his mane,maybe the rug is too tight/small for her.

Hi! Last year we had the same problem with Chezzi because of his new rug. He was going to pony club too so we just washed it with some nice shampoo and plaited it up really nice in the balls type plait, sorry can not remember the name.
He looked lovley and won 2nd in his 3,6ft class.
Also since you have a mare you could put ribbions round the bottom of the plaited balls we were going to do that but only had pink ribbion!

Plait her up as best u can, its jumping so they dont have to be perfect no one is going to see them up close, Tail try a french plait or u could get someone to pull his tail that is soooo much easier u dont have to plait it, as its cold just wash her legs from stains & her tail & maybe her main. Oil her feet that is important for turnout many people forget this & it always gets u extra marks, Clean her muzzle & clip or trim her ears & wiskers. A quick tip; if youi mane & tail conditioner spray her mane if u use a hood on ur rug it stops it from rubbing the mane out.

You can either hog it or leave it. If it looks untidy as it is now and you do not want to hog it, just pull it to tidy it up.
