Dream ranch be? What state? How many acres? What breed of horses? Describe it!

For personal riding pleasure, my dream ranch would be in Sonoma, California, somewhere in the hills just outside of the town. Or maybe a bit further north of Sonoma, more towards the Russian River area where the pines & redwoods are.

50 acres would be good, 100 acres better, but it would take a couple of million dollars to own that kind of land there. But if it is a dream.anything is possible.

My riding horses would be a couple of older geldings, no particular breed or type, just quiet old horses that l could enjoy riding trails on.

Sonoma is as close to heaven as u can get & still be on earth, IMO. The climate is super, the land is great, the scenery is hard to beat, it is just a beautiful place to be.

Only problem with trying to raise horses there is that any land that is reasonably flat & level is either already planted with vineyards or is worth so much if u plant it with grapes that nobody can afford to raise horses on it. You want to keep horses, u have to go to the hills where it is too steep to plant grapes.

as many acres as possible!!!! the more acres the more horses!! haha l would like all breeds but l especially like friesian, qh, arabs and TBs!! it would probably be in cowarrel lol

l would want a 50 acre property over by South Carolina-close enough to the beach, but not right on it. Besides, all the big shows r down in that area! l would prolly have a mix of horses-based on Performance, not one specific breed. l doubt l would go into breeding, not as a Business. l mean, if l had a fantastic mare l would prolly breed her to a nice stallion, but l would not be breeding for profit. Although l think l would prolly stick with TBs & some warmbloods/warmblood crosses.

Course, l would never have the money for this, until maybe l was old & decrepit..

Either Southern Arizona or in Montana - as many acres possible. l want it to be of very good quality & l want it to match my house (pet peeve for me when barns do not match.) l will most likely have warmbloods of sorts, but l could end up with anything. l might have boarders, but I'd rather it be private. I'd like it to have of course an indoor arena, outdoor arena, trails, xc course, bathroom, tack room, shower room, upstairs hay loft, etc. just the essentials. If l decide to have boarders then an office & lounge would be nice.

It is nothing extreme or very big - l just want it to have quality & enough room. l do plan on building, but being realistic, l am living with my parents 'forever' (assuming no crisis comes up) since l wo not have to pay bills & I'd have my horses right there. l might not ever even move ( l am really cheap) but as long as l will have a nice place to ride & somewhere to live l will be fine.

Hmmm. l have not been to too many areas. l love it here in WY if l could find a nonwindy place ;)

Probably by Yellowstone with access to open range.

Acres.. well, as many as l could get so l would not have to see the transplants moving there

My dream ranch would have to be in Montana or in the Panhadle of Oklahoma. It would be around 200 acres with American Quarter Horses. l would have at least 3 huge barns with indoor stalls, wash rack with heated water, and a huge tack room. l would also have an indoor arena and round pens with lighting.

l would also have a two story farm house, white, with black shutters. My house would also have a wrap around porch.

2 story log cabin- 5 bedroom-6 private cabins-20 stall barn with round pens & arena. It will have 3 apartments above.
Indoor pool, theater, game room, weight room.

Wyoming would be my choice but second runner up would be (after some long thought) I'd go back to NH & run a foliage trail ride through the mountains & over the rivers.
Minimum of 200 acres.

The cabins would be rented out to the tourists & I'd also host clinics & organized rides. l will also have a few trainers on site.

Breeds will be AQHA & APHA & a few TBs for the trainers & their clients. Draft crosses for the big visitors & a few Halflingers for the smaller clients.
Two teams of Drafts for sleigh rides & wagon rides.
