l have had arabians all my life, they are the most graceful animals ever. l wanna start showing my arabs, does anybody know of a site that can tell me what l need to get started, qualifications, requirements, training, gear etc? thanks for the help.

First u will need papers for the horses. They will at least have to have arab blood to be able to enter the show (full or cross).

Next the training & such is up to what level u want to compete in. . . they have western, english, dressage, & now jumping at the ''bigger'' A class shows. In those shows there r pros out there with their horses & trainers & whole barns just committed to showing & winning. . . So I'd suggest being at the best of ur level. Those people usually do not go for fun, they go to win.

I've been to them when l was younger. WP classes. l was not expecting to win but l did have fun. That is where my trainer took her students & horses.

Arabians r wonderful.. l have owned & shown for over 20 yrs.

this will give u a start, check in ur local state for regional shows.. or even local shows.

To show ur horse will have to have all its vaccinations, coggins test & other medical records.
Start with local shows they r less money & will give u the experience that u will need, decide what style of riding u will do, western, english, hunter. will u show conformation (halter class). check also for local Arabian trainers in ur area.. The web site should give u a list of Trainers in ur area.

l would try arabianhorses.org, it is the aha (arabian horse association) website & should have everything you're looking for about arabian horse shows. also if u plan on doing shows in ur area u can google: arabian horse shows in (area u live) then u should be able to get different showing organizations & most of the websites will have all the info u need & email addresses to contact the people in charge of the shows. hope this helped, & good luck showing! arabian shows r the best, they're always fun :)
