A good all rounder, will not be determined by breed. Unless you have a breed you particularly like, decide on a height/age bracket you are happy with and go from there

Happy horse hunting!

welsh cob section c or d or perhaps arab x newforest something aprox 14.2 would be perfect for your height l think welsh pony is cobs are the easiest to work with newforest are not too bad can be strong sometimes though and some arabs tend to be flighty unless you get a nice quiet one or a cross breed. exp worked at riding schools and owner of 2

For you.i would get a horse in between 14.2 -17hh(if you like big horses, go bigger). l am 5ft3 also and l own a mare who is 15hh. For breeds, l do not think it really matters. l think thoroughbreds are great for that kind of stuff. Just do not get an ex-racer if you can not handle them.

an APHA or arabian or AQHA

Im exactly the same as you, l bought Thorough Bred, what was l thinking, but she is brilliant lovely temperament.

An all rounder is brilliant, but what l would do is not go for breed but look round and ride diffrent horses too see which you like then buy the one which you prefer.

xx

P.S im called Rebecca too : )

Um, most likely a horse that is a good jumper and is good in the ring. Also if you want to show him you would want a horse that is good around other horses and people.

Id Go For Something Around 14-15hh As Your More Than Likley Going To Get Taller.
You Would Need An AllRounder Sort Of Horse.
Connemaras Have Very Good Temperment So They Would Be Quiet When Hacking Ect. l Also Ride Two Connemaras And They Are Both Fantasic Jumpers And Have Lovley Paces, Their Also Quiet In Their Stable. Connemaras Also Make Brilliant AllRounders. Plus Their Usually Around 14-15hh :)
But l Think You Can Only Get Them In The U.k + Ireland

But If Your American The Quarter Horse Would Sort Of Be The Equivilant l Think.

Good Luck Trying To Find Your Perfect Horse!! Xo0oXo0x

l agree with the first answer, just a good allrounder! No particular breed but if you were wanting a nice allround breed then Welsh Section D is and Haflingers are great all rounders in my opinion. Or an Irish Sports Horse! l love them too pieces, great temprement and great jumpers and just Great LOL!
Something like him mabye?.

Height: I'd say get a horse around 15.hh beacuse although it would be a little big for u now, ur still growing & that means u could keep it for many years to come.

Breed: It is up to u wheter you'd like a beginner horse to bring on or an experienced horse but l would say you'd get more out of a horse that is reasonable experienced but can still learn new things. If ur looking for a particular breed, connemara is r fantastic all rounders but then can be more expensive cause they're in such demand.

Sex: Again this is own personal preference, some people get along better with mares & others with gelding but if ur horse is ever injured it is better to have a mare because u can bred from her.

Age: l would say prob from 6 - 11 because u want to be keeping it for a few years & if u want to sell it in a few years it is harder to find a buyer for an old horse but younger horses that r experienced r quite expensive.

Here is some idea's

Good luck, remember to look personally at the horses before u buy them, u will know when it is the right horse for u & do not rush into anything :)

It doesnt really matter what breed. But the type you would want to look for is an all-rounder. They basically do everything xD

Good luck!

l would definitely get a thoroughbred. They are the best all rounders in my opinion. A lot of the thoroughbreds l know have really sweet temperaments too. They have really nice gaits and most are pretty smooth. They can be crazy but over all they are amazing!

Definatly an allrounder.a new forest pony about 14.2 would be perfect, r u a confident rider? If so go for a more foward going pony, if u r a nervous rider then go for a slower more laid back pony.but still a new forest. l would also not recomend a pony aged 1-6 atleast get an older one with a little more xperience if u r hoping to ride out on the roads so l would suggest a good age is 8-12. l have been riding for 8 years now & im 14, l had a seriously bad fall on an old pony wich nocked bak my confidence a great deal, so l instantly bought a new forest who has brung me back to jumping tracks of 1.20cm.i am now qualified for scope because of my lovely new forest. l hope l have helped you

Thanks & good luck
