Now l have to wait about 3 weeks or more to go again. It is the holidays where l live and l can not wait that long! l wake up every morning and l almost cry. l used to get by by saying, ''It will come, l just have to wait.'' But this has been the best thing EVER and my mum said 'yes' to lessons. l can not wait that long. Is there anything l can do to keep my mind off it or make time go faster?

l would suggest not to look at horses on the internet. as it will make u even more anxious!!!

At my riding school 12+ you're aloud to volunteer (which everyone does) & 15+ u can apply for a job. l am sure its that at nearly every riding school in ur area. So l assume u r going once a week when you're riding. so ask if yo can come maybe once more to help out! It builds up charisma, friendships, learn how to maintain a horse & best of all u learn that if theres a brush on the floor use ur initiative & pick it up!

How about reading books on horse care & riding exercises so that when for example ur instructor tells u that u should change the rein across the diagonal u will know exactly what she is talking about. Learn where the letters r in the arena. One way to remember them is to make a rhyme out of them starting at A going around the arena on the left right rein (turning right all the time) u could think to yourself ''A Kindly Elephant Has Crushed My Blessed Foot'' Or ''All King Edward is Horses Ca not Manage Big Fences''.

Learn the points of the horse then u will know where the rump is, the cannon bone etc.

That should keep u occupied.

When u do have ur lessons expect some days to be better than others & do not give up just because u have had a difficult day.

if you know where you will be taking lessons, you might want to look into working with the horses there. maybe gooming them for the owners/riders, mucking out a few stalls, whatever the manager will let you do. l know its not the same as riding, but if you can do all those things for the horse that you will be riding on a regular basis, the horse will respect you more and you will get a better ride out of it.

l have not been riding for 3 weeks either. What l did was do core (stomach), leg and arm strength along with doing heel stretches and balance exercises
Look online for some good exercises and work on them. It will really help your riding

l feel the same way, l only get to ride once a week & it is on the best horse ever, but every day l am so depressed & just want to cry like a baby, everyday that is except the days l ride, l spend my time up looking at the horses up the rode & the cows, playing with my dogs cats etc. or l just run around the yard jumping little jumps on an imaginary horse in my own little world, l know it sounds babyish but it sort of works until something pulls u back into reality. but dont worry the day will come around, it always does & when it finally does the horses will be waiting eager & fresh, they always come through,

l only get to ride once a week in a group lesson. On the other 6 days l do exercises specifically designed for riders and l read a chapter a day in a horse care or riding instruction book. l also have a horse encyclopedia and can look at different types of breeds. The reading and exercising do not replace horse face time but it does keep me focused and informed!
