that is a bad habbit for horses to get into! push her away! when she pushes you!

She wants treats!!!

A pony at my stable does this too.

I'd say stop hand feeding her treats and teach her to respect your personal space by shouting ''No!'' when she tries to push you.

No. Its a bad habit- usually they want to use you as a scratching post, to itch their head. Discourage it.

This could mean very many things. She may want to itch on you, she could want treats or praise from you, or she could be being fresh. Sometimes my horse pushed me around with her head and l just push her away. Rubbing on you is a bad habit and if that is what shes trying to do, l suggest you dont let her do that.

No, its actually a habit you should try to rid her of. She is showing that she is the boss and that you need to pay attention to her by pushing you around. When she does it, say 'NO' in a firm voice and push her head away. This will tell her that she needs to respect you.

Yes, she is trying to tell her that she is the boss of you. You must not tolerate it. She can and eventually will knock you down.

Uhh ohh.Bad habit! If u think u might ever sell this horse or other people work with her. Push her away & say in a firm meanish voice(not yelling) QUIT IT. l would prefer not NO. She might confuse this with no & be like ''Why she telling me whoa? Im right her!''.Please by all means get this habit out of her! When someone else is dealing with her in the future. They might think as this as a threat. And they would yell at her, maybe even smack her on the chest, And the horse wont know what its for, cause YOU let her do it. Your horse might be doing this in a nice way. But do not let her! Let her know this is not nice thing to do in ur state of mind!

Only that she does not have respect for your personal space. Do not let her do it.

she is being rude, its her bad manners. she is basically telling you that you are lowing down in the herd than her so she can push you around, you need to reaffirm your authority to her.

shes playing hard to get
i know the type
my boyfriend does the same thing

When horses do this they usually want treats or to be rubbed. Push her away becasue this can be dangerous if one day she hits her head with yours. Some owners will let the horse rub on them but it can get into a very bad habit.

This is all about domination. Your horse wants to stay at no.1 in the herd.thats, you and her! Every time she pushes you about she is winning the battle.
You HAVE TO stop this in what ever way you can! Horses hate it when you wave your arms about in their face, thats what I'd do EVERY time she pushes you, or comes into your personal space. Wave your arms in her face and tell her firmly, ''NO''.

Your horse is telling you it likes you and wants to be with you. My horse does the same thing. But, at the same time it is VERY BAD ground manners. Your horse should walk without pushing you.

She probably just wants attention, or maby she has an itchy head? But its not something you should in courage next time she pushes you with her head push her head away. Any eventually she should learn to stop. Good Luck

it might seem that ur horse is being affectionate, as horses do use body contact in the wild & the head is a vulnerable place - hence why some horses r nervy about being groomed there. however, the big issue is personal space - there is an understanding between horses that each has its own space. ur horse is testing u to see who is in charge - if ur horse respects you, she will only come close when asked. do not make a big deal about - its not as if she is pushing u with her whole body, so she is only testing the water - one way to deal with it is holding a lead rope & gently swinging it in circles so she backs off.
aeroz     Reply with quote
Yes, that she does not respect you. Do not let her do that!
Pink     Reply with quote
You mean like Lassie? Billy fell in the well? No. The only thing she is telling you is that she does not respect your space and she is the dominate one. Scratching on you, pushing you around or just being in your face are all the same issue. Having a horse knock you in the head with their head hurts and it is not cute. l would not let her continue with that.
