leg yielding is using your inside leg and opening your outside hand to ''yeild'' to the rail. it is commonly used in dressage.

When u leg yield u r asking the horse to move his two inside legs over & cross his outside legs while moving. Imagine walking & crossing ur left leg over ur right leg while ur still moving.

You do this by asking the horse to move away from ur inside leg & holding ur outside rein so that it keeps the horse straight while moving sideways.

here is a good visual of what a leg yield should look like:

l like what bob has said but l also want to add that when you leg yeild, you are asking your horse to pick up the ouside contact. Your ultimate goal is to have your horse moving primarily off of the outside rein and leg. Leg yeilding will help with this.

Leg yielding is when you get a horse to cross it is shoulders. it is a dressage move and you need to keep quite a tight rein contact and be quite firm with your legs , i'm not very good at explaining so ask your instructor or a horsey mate
have fun :D

l think in western, it means that your horse moves off from the leg.
So if you push your calf into your horses side he should want to move away from it. Push with left leg and the horse should go right.

Leg yielding is the same as two tracking in western riding. The horse is asked to move laterally and forward at the same time, and the legs are moving on two tracks, while maintaining the body in straight alignment.
