warmbloods r quiet nice for showjumping & most disciplines because of their strong build & up-hill carriage which is important for the high levels to jump the larger spreads & jumps
i have two horses a thoroughbred & a warmblood that l compete regularaly in dressage & eventing thoroughbred can also be used for showjumping but l find that my warmblood is generally sounder
here r some wesites http://nylandequestrian.com/warmblood_info.html the warmblood breed has some variations but they share the same qualitys
hope the helps

It depends on what u want all horses jump, cobs will be calmer in general whereas a Thoroughbred x will be more enthusiastic. Irish sports horses make good all rounders but it just depends on what u want each horse is different as well so it depends on the temperament eg l once knew a Shetland that could jump 4ft & a 16.3 Thoroughbred that would not jump 2ft. It also depends on what sort of jumps u r jumping eg cross country is not ideal for a Thoroughbred as they r know to be pron to injury but a Thoroughbred x would do well at show jumping. its better to judge it by the horse itself not the breed.

Warmblood horses tend to be the best jumpers. A good jumping horse would have.. -Sloping shoulders: For a good ground-covering action. -Muscular hindquarters: For power when taking off for a jump. -Deep chest: For lots of stamina & speed. -Good, sound limbs: Important for a good length of stride & movement.
This means that the majority of successful showjumpers r Selle Francais, Thoroughbreds & Anglo Arabs, Oldenburgs & Westphalians (to name a few).

drinnan is stupid egnore that pathetic answer. well, the thing is many horses r into jumping. such as warmbloods. they r prone to jumping . but lots of other horses & ponies can jump to. connemaras, welsh sec D ponies, all sorts. try too avoid thoroughbred. yes. they can jump but if you're wanting to go too shows or clubs. then u have a course of fences & thoroughbreds arnt very good at bending & doing quick turns. as they r not very flexible. warmbloods r most probuably the best. but r very exspensive! but my mate has a horse called george a 15.1cob! hes been jumping him over 4ft! all horses can jump. just have a look at some adverts for horses for sale & see which ones r good at jumping. but its not about this horse is the best. they're all capable of the same thing. for more questions, infornmation. please email me on baybee-sham-oxhotmail.co.uk

Actually there are many that can do it, but some have more natural ability than others. For Olympic jumping, here are some common breeds: Hanoverian Trakhener Thorougbred Westphalian Warmbloods Thorougbred crosses For other kinds of jumping, many other ponies and horses are popular. Here are some of them: Welsh Pony Welsh Cob Welsh Cross Quarter Horses(the appendix ones are the best) Paint Horses

Havoverians are gooood They're nice and tall, and have really long legs. Plus they have good temperments.

warmbloods are the best for jumping. if you have a thoroughbred crossed with another breed would give you a warmblood. hanoverians are amazing jumpers.

Warmbloods were bred for athletic abilities, and thoroughbreds have nice long legs for stretching over fences. Quarter Horses have powerful hindquarters good for springing.
