can l put this on a synthetic saddle, will it look weird, l do not care for shows, will it cause harm to the saddle (scratches etc.)

l do not see why not.
l have a synthetic bridle and leather reins.can not tell it unless you are up close and personal.

As for scratching..my synthetic saddle does not scratch.neither does my bridle. At least not a scratch that stands out.

If it is a Wintec saddle newer than 10 years, u can put the leather on the synthetic. If it is older, then no. If it is a Thoroughgood then no.

It is not the look, but the oil from the leather will damage some of the foam based saddles. Newer Wintecs do not have foam under the fabric cover, they r a synthetic felt. The older Wintecs & the Thoroughgood saddles r made of layers of material, foam, then material. The glue will decompose from the oil in the leather & ruin the saddle.

synthetic saddles are not good for horses!! they can cause saddle sores, back problems and throw them out of alignment! wich is very very painful! they dont look as good either!
