At the moment l have injured my arm, so l wo not be able to ride for a while.
l lunge and free-school my horse often, but need some more things to keep her entertained as she will get bored of lunging all the time.
She does not jump so well on lunge, and is VERY strong, so l cannot do anything too risky or strenuous, as l only have one good arm to work with!
l know there is not really much left to work with if you rule out all the things that I/she can not do, but if you can think of anything that might be fun for us to try that would be great!

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
x
l have already done some teaching her tricks - she is very intelligent!
But l do not really need to do a lot of bonding with her, we are very close and she trusts me, and the whole point is that l need to exercise her!

-Well, since ur arm is in a bad condition when it gets better to improve her jumping while lunging go in a round when & place some pipes or something small to jump over to release all the strength. Then go to bigger jumps as u get along. They will hopefully teach the horse that he does not need to use every force he has with one jumps if its really the strong.
-Excercises;they'r arent many u can do with a injured arm. Maybe bonding thats always good xD.
-Besides groundWORK,work on groundMANNERS!?
Really they'r arent any l can think of.Sorry

well l had that problem but l am now recovered-

i think that u might need to bond with ur horse-theres always time to get to no ur horse more. because they r horses & we r humans ur horse might want to get to no u better to-you never know. u could teach her some tricks. make her some homeade treats- l HAVE A GREAT TREAT RECIPIE-if u want it just e-mail me at imsofab101.com

another thing is exercise. take her out in a big pasture with a long rope make her runn around for a while-alll u need to do is hold the rope. u could also work on haltering. & personal space. teach her (if she already dosent no) about no rubbing her head up aginst u or waiting for u to open the gait & for u to walk through befor she goes through.

last but not least try liek l said earlier a few tricks. u could invent soem tricks to inprove her manners. so ur makeing work fun for her.

hope l helped

Everyone else basically had the , but is there anyway you could get someone else to ride her.even once a week to just keep her from getting to riding deprived lol.

l am not sure about the ground work exercises. It seem slike everyoe has already answered that. But you could spend some quality bonding time w/ him/her. Grooming, clipping and maybe going for a walk around the property/stable. they should feel like you have spent time w/ them and their mind had a break from being bored in their stall. Happy Holidays

Try teaching her to free jump. It might take a while for her to understand but she will definitely get exercise.

You could try to teach her fun circus tricks using treats. There r many books available on tricks like these & they r fairly easy to teach adn they keep the horse mentally stimulated. l think one of the easiest is the bowing action. It is similar to teaching a dog to lie down u just hold l big juicy treat in front of their nose & slowly move it toward the ground & do not let them have it until they start to bend his/her knees - even a small movement, or one leg bent is worth praise because it give the horse an idea of what u want from them. Praise frequently & for small improvements, keep training sessions short & very frequent.

To physically work ur horse out u could turn them out in ur arena with jumps, & indoor is ideal but a high fenced outdoor arena is ok (5ft minimum. otherwise the horse might jump it!!) Go into the middle of the arena & just lead them out to the track & let him/her lose. careful some horses will buck in excitement & take off with is fine as long as u r out of the way - other horses will follow u & just look confused. Crack the whip & try to get him/ her moving. let them trot out with a big stride, canter & usually they want to gallop so allow it but do not force that gait. If ur horse likes to jump they will go over any jumps in the arena as long as u do not become overly aggressive & chase them away from jumps or make them go too fast to focus on jumping. my old quarter horse used to love taking small cavaletti jumps free in the arena & he had acute arthritis he just loved jumping! It was a great workout that he loved when riding was too strenuous.

My last suggestion is a combination of physical & mental stimulation. It is called target training & it involves the horse touching an object with it is nose for praise. You can set up a sort of course of these balls once ur horse gets good at it & it becomes like an agility training. l find it very interesting & would love to try it with my horse! Here is a book on some info about target training . i'm sure u could find a better one but just to give u an idea!
