Yes, that is fine to ride her.but if you plan to show her you will be to tall.
l would start looking into buying a horse 15.2 and above. l am also 5'3'' and l ride a 16h horse.

you should ask someone who workes at a local horse farm and find their opinion and go from there

if you and the horse are comfortable, there is no problem. If your feet hang lower then her barrel, it could be an issue for jumping, depending on how far below her your feet are. The desired riding horses on average have gotten bigger, but many adults still ride 15h or smaller horses just fine. If you are not more than 20% of her weight, and her back is not sore after riding, you're doing fine.

Sounds like you are a little tall, however, with ponies the biggest thing is weight, not height. You should not weigh more than 15-20% of her body weight. So if your pony weighs 500 lbs, the maximum you should weigh would be 100 lbs.

ya. im 5'1'' and my pony is about 13 hands. shes a great girl, and horses can hold any person, as long as its not a mini, or doing too much work . but you could fit on a bigger horse.

You should probably start to look at bigger horses. l am 5'2'' and l had a 15 hand horse and it was a little small. l got a new horse that is 15.3 that l fit perfectly.

yeah, your fine riding her. as long as she can carry you without a problem then you're fine. you said she was kind of stocky too, so l do not see a reason why you would be too tall for her. i'm about the same height as you and l have riden a stocky 11.3 hh pony who had absolutely no problem carrying me.
