Ok l know this is kinda silly but whats really the diffrence between a close contact saddle and a jumping saddle?

l looked it up in wikipedia and found this:
The jumping saddle, sometimes called a ''forward seat'' or ''close contact'' saddle, is designed for show jumping
so it looks like it is one and the same.

Close-contact saddles usually have less padding in the knee-rolls/thigh areas, may have less padding in the seat & sometimes have less padding for the horse in the blocking/panels beneath the saddle. They r meant to give the rider closer contact with the horse is back & r most commonly used for stadium-jumping or cross-country over rather high fences to give the rider a more secure seat particularly in jumping position over big fences.

Ordinary jump saddles r hunt-seat type that r designed for a more casual rider who may jump the occasional fence such as fox hunting, or show hunt-seat/hunter under saddle; the rider is not meant to remain in jumping position as long & the saddle is designed for the rider to put more weight on the horse is back in general.

My understanding is that close contact saddles usually have a lower cantle and smaller or nonexistent knee rolls where jump saddles have a higher cantle and knee rolls.
