Both the horse l used to have and the horse l have now were used as schooling horses for a short while so they were already used to the environment and l had been leasing them for a few months... each time we moved my new horse, we waited like a week... but is it different when you get a whole new horse?

How long should the horse stay quarantined? When is the right time to turn it out in the pasture next to my horse (how many days, weeks, etc?) If the horse is up to date on worming (supposedly) should l still worm it?

When it first arrives at our barn, should l just leave it in its stall for a week or should l still take it out and groom it?

I am generally not this stupid when it comes to horses, but l never had to worry about this before, and my mom is a kook about the new horse/s contaminating my horse lol... and as for the horse being in a new environment, l do not want it to have a bad experience so early.

u should gradually let the horses get closer together..maybe have someone hold the new horse while u ride the other one just so they can get used to being together.When he first arrives at our barn u should definitely take him out & groom him also just walk him around outside a little bit to get him used to the surroundings & maybe just tack him up & walk him around or just lunge him a little bit before each time u ride ur other horse.
as for turning him out with ur other horse u should make sure that they r friends & they wont get into a fight maybe have them separated & when u ride just Pony the other horse or have someone else ride him & then after about i'd say 2-3 weeks u should turn him out

Well before u get ur horse u have to have a built stall.
Or paddock 2 Buckets Filled with water & grain.
brushes such as : Curry comb ( to get dirt out of its coat ) Soft brush ( to brush his face. Hard brush ( to sweep away the dirt ) Hoof pick ( to clean out his feet like dirt & rocks ) & a Hair tangle brush ( to get tangles out of his mane & tail.

You may need a saddle & saddle pad for riding, also a bridle.
A big out door Arena so u can ride in. Did l mention u also need fly spray ( he may buck cause of horse flies )



You can leave him into the pasture IF HE HAS A BLANKET ON!!
if he is in a stall he does not need a blanket.
