if you ride western can you please answer the question saying something like yes or western or something? if you ride english like type english or something please! l just wanna see how many people ride western and how many people ride english.
western for me! l luv it! you have more.... there. with the horn there on the saddle l feel like l can go as fast as l want without having to worry about not having anything to hold onto if my horse suddenly stops or turns the wrong way. :D lol
l like english too but l have never ridden english before. somebody told me that all english riders are snotty. l do not think so though because my used-to-be-best-friend rode english and she was nice. so if somebody asked me if l like riding english l would not be able to answer that.
hey also please give me your thoughts and oppinions on this: my friends friend said that horseback riding is not a sport. she SAID that she took a riding class and was tought how to ride in a couple days. l was like, '' first of all horseback riding IS a sport! well it is not that hard l guess if you are just walking the horse but after walking then it is a sport.'' she said that western is not a sport expecially. and then when l asked why she said because of the saddle!
tell me what you think about that and what l should say to her to make her understand that it IS a sport. should l like stick her on my AQH and tell her to try galloping around the field 5 times and then tell me horseback riding is not a sport? idk please anser this question too!!! thx :D

l ride both. l like to ride english when actually working with horses because l feel you are more in touch with the horse and have a little bit more control. On trail rides def western though.

l ride both, & l do not have a preference.

l do most my schooling in my western saddle, but l also focous on dressage. to be honest it really does not matter what saddle u use, ur still riding, still training, & both r equally as hard. There was a great video on youtube where a reiner & a dressage rider switched horses. If u can find it its a great watch.

l find l can ride just as well from either saddle, can fine tune in either saddle, & can train in either saddle. so bottom line is as long as l am riding, style does not matter.

English. All. The. Way. (We jumped 4 foot tonight!!! :) )

And l hate people like that. They get on a school pony and walk about then say, ah, its not a sport! Excuse me, if it isnt a sport, why do l have biceps and abs? l do not work out. And l do not get it from dance..hmm. Musta just magically appeared overnight!!!

Yeah, have her get on. Or, if ure mean, have her get on an OTTB and then gallop about. Except that might end up fatal. Which would suck.

l ride English! :D Im going to start jumping around next week! l am so excited! :D l have no problem with Western. In fact, l have a friend who will only do Western. l just personally feel off balance on the Western saddle, & like l have really good comfortable posture in the English saddle. l do however wanna try Barrel Racing. When l get a horse, l also want a horse that does English & Western. :) For now though, l am a strictly English girl. ;D
<3

P.S. Yeah, there r alot of snobby rich people in English riding, but they usually keep to themselves & people that r like them. Not saying all rich people r snobby. l know (English riding) people that board 3 (English)horses at the barn l go to. 3!!! And they r SUPER SUPER nice still.:) It really all depends on what barn u go to. ;D

P.P.S. Omg.put that friend bareback on a galloping horse thats heading straight for a 5 foot jump & see what happens. lol. l have seen my friends horses bolt, have them nearly thrown off, have their helmet split IN HALF from a fall, seen TONS of horses bucking, TOOONS of falls, alot of falls myself arg..i hate it when people say riding isnt a sport. l have to stop typing now, or l will explode. lol. email me for some youtube videos of this ''non sport''. Ugh!!! l HATE it when people say that!!!!!!!! *screams*

l ride English & western, but lately predominantly bareback. Throw her on bareback, or in a saddle, but do not let her use stirups, make her post without stirrups for 20 minutes, then 2 point for 20 minutes, If she ''knows'' how to ride, let her gallop & really work those muscles. Riding at just a walk trot for an hour burns the SAME amount of calories as running for an hour, have her go on a long ride with you, & see if she is not sore later or in the morning, it is a sport. It is even an olympic sport, really, ask her if she is willing to jump a 5 foot oxer.

WESTERN!

l ride western, bareback and English. l ride Western and Bareback most of the time but, on occasion l ride English. l ride my horses western more because you can not rope a cow in a English saddle. l also ride my horse bareback and bridle less alot ( that means to neck rope nothing just me and the horse).

P.S. Barrel Racing, show jumping, dressage, cross country jumpping, Endruence, reining, Trick Riding and vaulting are all Sports.

Western all the way!!

i have never tried english but l just want to try it once, l dont think l will like it tho.
theres just something about running as fast as the horse can go an not worrying about my posture or were my reins are, just me & the horse. l also love barrels & poles! sometimes l will jump logs or wutever on the trail which is pretty cool but l wouldnt want to jump competivitly. english just seems so perfect & u care about what u r wearing & how u look instead of caring about the horse.

your friend who thinks western isnt a sport, put her on a horse galloping full speed around a barrel, then see if she thinks its a sport. (if she can even stay on) & the saddle has nothing to do with anything, its not like we hold on to it or anything. we just use it to tie ropes when we areroping cows. u should also tell her to get her facts striaght before she opens her mouth!

l ride both. no english riders are not snotty. I've met snottier western riders.

Yeah, go put her on a horse. only, one that will buck her off. :)

l ride English. Dressage mostly, but in the warmer weather l jump a bit. As for you other question. l would not put her in TOO much danger by making her gallop. You would not actually WANT to hurt her (maybe you would). Try sitting her on your horse and make her do the basic things. She will be surprised on how hard the basic things really are. No one learns to ride good in a short series of lessons, including your friend is friend. Have fun!
